Budi Finance — heritage and trust

Committed to Clarity.
Grounded in Malaysian Financial Reality.

Budi Finance was established to serve Malaysians who find themselves at a financial crossroads — approaching retirement, navigating a life change, or simply wanting a clearer picture of where they stand.

Built Around a Gap Worth Filling

Budi Finance was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2017 after our founding team observed a consistent pattern: Malaysians aged 40 and above were navigating some of their most consequential financial decisions — writing wills, restructuring savings, adjusting to retirement — with little access to education tailored to their specific circumstances.

Most financial education in Malaysia targets younger audiences entering the workforce or building their first savings. The needs of those further along — dealing with inheritance, ASNB optimisation, post-divorce financial restructuring, or estate documentation — were rarely addressed in a focused, accessible setting.

We established Budi Finance to change that. Our name draws from the Malay concept of budi — wisdom, good judgement, and considered conduct — values we believe should anchor any serious conversation about money and planning.

Today, we serve participants across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley through small-group programmes led by qualified facilitators with backgrounds in Malaysian financial planning and estate law.

Our Mission

"To equip Malaysians aged 40 and above with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to make considered financial decisions — at the pace that suits their lives."

How We Maintain Quality

Our commitment to programme quality is reflected in the standards we hold ourselves to across every aspect of how we operate.

Qualified Facilitators

All facilitators hold relevant qualifications in Malaysian financial planning, estate law, or adult education. Credentials are reviewed annually.

Current Content

Programme materials are reviewed and updated at each legislative or regulatory change — including ASNB structure updates, EPF policy revisions, and estate law amendments.

Data Protection

Participant information is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Data is never shared with third parties without express consent.

Small Group Commitment

We cap group sizes to ensure every participant receives adequate attention. Sessions are rescheduled rather than oversized when demand exceeds availability.

Participant Feedback Loop

Every programme concludes with a structured feedback session. Responses are reviewed by programme leads and used to refine content and delivery each cycle.

Educational Integrity

Our programmes are educational in nature — not financial advisory services. We present information clearly and encourage participants to seek registered advisers for specific decisions.

Financial Education Grounded in Malaysian Realities

The Malaysian financial landscape presents a distinct set of considerations for those approaching or within mid-life. The interplay between EPF accounts, ASNB investment vehicles, Syariah inheritance rules under Wasiyyah, and the Malaysian Wills Act creates a framework that requires specific, locally-grounded education rather than generic financial guidance imported from elsewhere.

Budi Finance has developed its three programmes around these particular needs. Our facilitators have worked within Malaysian financial planning and estate law for years — not as academics, but as practitioners who have sat across from real families working through real decisions. This experience shapes every session we deliver at our Bangsar premises.
